Fume Cupboard equipped with Scrubber Function Training


Description
Procedures and training for using the fume cupboard equipped with scrubber function and wash down capability (Room 6031).

Note:
* The two most common chemicals requiring the use of this hood at TRI are perchloric acid and hydrofluoric acid.
* Adjacent to the fume cupboard is a corrosive cabinet set aside specifically for the storage of these chemicals.

Completion of this training is required before operating this equipment. It consists of reading the below procedure and attending a face-to-face practical session with a Scientific Services Officer or nominated equipment custodian.

NOTE: Prior to requesting training, personnel should provide a comprehensive risk assessment and work protocol to safety@tri.edu.au for the chemicals to be used with the scrubber function.
